★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As you head down the road from Venafro towards Campobasso, this church dominates the view. It stands alone on the hill so it's hard to miss. And, from a distance it is a very imposing modern building. It's a place of pilgrimage for Catholics having been the place where an apparition of Mary occurred in1888. Inside the octagonal plan is simple with each alcove housing some different point of devotion. For me, the beauty of it lies in the way the light changes its aspect. It was particularly interesting at night.
