β β β β β We rented a car with full insurance at Avis office in Catania's port. Although the office is small, pick up and drop off was very quick and went smoothly. Francesca (one of the office worker) was very friendly, recommended us to take additional insurance for windows and gave us few useful tips about what to see in Sicily. She could speak fluent English so there was no problem with communication. When next morning we realised that one of our mirrors is missing (someone stole it) there was no problem with car exchange. We are really grateful for quick help, advisory and car upgrade during car exchange :) Both cars were in good visual and technical condition. Grazie mille!
Tip: I recommend everyone to take full insurance package - you cannot avoid scratches - even if you drive/park properly, Sicilian drivers definitely don't. We saw guy trying to park by bumping two cars (the one in-front and the one back) multiple times until he managed to park.

β β β β β I highly recommend Avis Porto Catania. A hidden gem especially after reading about all the horrific reviews of the cheaper rental agencies at the airport. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had the car size( brand new) we wanted. Very small place with only 2 people behind the counter so be prepared to wait a bit if busy. It is not as cheap as the ones at the airport but you won't be scammed in paying a lot more when you return the car. Returning the car was a 5 minutes job. No problems at all.

β β β β β Super nice and kind lady that was fully communicative and she has still her smile on the face even we were almost before the closing. She told us all the details of the rental, our protections options, cars we can rent. Perfect! After the rental she smiled wjen she saw us and speak about our tour. She checked the car and verify with us the final price. Pro!

β β β β β The workers seemed to be trying, but we waited 45 minutes for them to help two customers in front of us. About 15 customers were waiting to be helped still. When we finally got up to front of line our internet reservation still took 10 minutes to process at the desk.

β β β β β A little bit hidden. Follow Google, then walk below the arches and you will find Avis in the building behind. They speak a perfect English. When you return the car don't get confused, just drive past the harbour gate even if it says you should not. Have fun driving in Catania. It is pretty crazy but not as bad as Istanbul.

β β β β β We were desperate for a car in Catania for one day for a trip to Etna, but then we found this place.
At first, I was scared about the insurance policy (I read plenty of bad experience with scams from other peoples experience with other companies) but everything was perfect.
The price was good and we got full coverage with zero excess.
The personnal was perfect! Professional and very kind. We had no trouble getting a car and after a few minutes, we were sitting in our car, which was in perfect conditon.
From my experience - I can fully recommend this company. A++
