Let me start by saying the dinner started wonderfully. The fried artichokes and cod were delicious and the pastas were great! The lemon sauce one was so good we ended up ordering it again in the same meal. The artichoke one was not good but it wasn’t horrible so probably just my taste. The Bacalao a la Romana was ok, my husband liked it more than me but it came with 3-4 small pieces and one of the larger pieces was so hard and tough you couldn’t cut it without a knife. I told the waiter and showed him. We decided to order another piece of fried fish and more lemon pasta instead of finishing the plate. Maybe it’s a cultural thing but instead of removing the 18 euro dish from our bill they simply gave us the 6 euro piece of replacement fish for free. I was not happy about that so I addressed it when paying and they said because half of it was eaten that they simply replaced the bad piece. That is not what we are used to but I’ve heard that service is notoriously bad in Italy so maybe it’s just a cultural thing but to us it’s still a bad business practice. Instead of crediting us the bad plate and charging for the fried fish, they kept 12 euro and lost a customer because after that experience who would want to return?

Beware this is not a tourist location. You must make reservations and know some Italian as the staff speaks very little if any English at all. This is mama's kitchen cooking. I had the lemon pasta which was the best pasta dish I have ever eaten to date. I am Italian and have been eating pasta my whole life, but this dish was amazing. The saltiness and velvety buttery texture of the butter and Creme fraiche marry perfectly with the tartness of the lemon. The sauce is smooth and luxurious with perfectly selected pasta. I would highly recommend this dish and this establishment and will return and recommend it to friends and family. Thank you for the great meal.

We came here because a dear friend of mine recommended this place but our visit was not enjoyable. We ordered: carciofo alla giudia (starter), baccalà alla romana e pacorara(mix of fried lamb parts). Everything was remarkably good but unfortunately the baccalà was not well cooked. I spoke to the waiter on behalf of my partner (due to a language barrier) with the intention to have it cooked again but his reaction was a total surprise. He started to loudly say that that was the recipe and if I was unable to understand the chef could explain it to me better. He also remarked that if the other customers didn’t complain, I don’t have any reason to do so. I don’t think that this is right and I suddenly felt so upset and disappointed to be attacked by the waiter. I continued my dinner sharing my pecorara with my partner (which was amazingly tasty). However, we the lamb abbacchio was not cooked (and this time I took a photo -attached). I made it present to the waiter who, still got mad and took the plate away. I felt so bad and unwelcome. I asked for the bill (they removed the price of the baccalà only) and went to the cashier. I just pointed out that I was going away from there very upset. The cashier reacted the same way as the waiter and cancelled our bill completely. I felt even more upset because my dinner was going to be refund from my company anyway, so it wasn’t an issue of money. Very noisy place. The place is located in the middle of the ghetto area. The tables were upstairs so, I don’t think that the place is disable accessible.

Great restaurant for you craving for Roman specialities! Located on the outskirts of the Jewish district, this very clean spot stands out by its settings, the service staff as well as food quality. We highly recommend the fried artichoke as well as the lemon spaghetti. Be aware that bread will be charged.

What a delightful find in the Jewish quarter! Not kosher by any standard but offering truly delicious Roman fare, with high quality ingredients and delightful local dishes that I hadn’t seen anywhere else. The Jewish-style fried artichoke and fried zucchini flowers were made with precision, the pasta was light and flavorful (anchovies and raisins, who would’ve thought?), and the panna cotta perfectly wobbly. The best part - uncharacteristically for Rome - was the service, and our sweet and attentive server made the whole experience unforgettable. Grazie Mauro!

I arrived close to 3pm as I thought it stayed open past 3pm according to Google Map. I only realised it later when they switched off the lights of another room and the younger waiter disappeared after serving me wine but the service continued with an elderly waiter who was very kind.
