★ ★ ★ ★ ★ L'abbazia di Santa Maria in Faofoli accolse il noviziato di Pietro Angelerio, il quale colà poi prese i voti. Pietro sarebbe diventato il Papà Molisani, Celestino V, il papà citato da Dante nella Divina Commedia. Sulla strada che collega Montagano alla Fondovalle del Biferno, nel centro sannitico di Fagifulae, in epoca medioevale si installò una comunità benedettina. Le notizie più antiche sulla Badia di S. Maria di Faifula risalgono al 1134. Il portale è ancora quello romanico. Nell'interno, che ha una pianta a tre navate, è conservata una statua lignea a grandezza naturale della Madonna dell'Incoronata seduta su un tronco d'albero e non sul classico trono.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Luogo abbandonato pure da Dio. Non c'è niente, a parte il giardinetto antistante la chiesa ben curato. Chiesa che è sempre chiusa. La strada per arrivarci è pessima, buche e dossi a volontà. Armatevi di una macchina alta e molta molta pazienza. SCONSIGLIATO
Place also abandoned by God. There is nothing, apart from the well-kept garden in front of the church. Church that is always closed. The road to get there is bad, holes and bumps at will. Arm yourself with a tall car and a lot of patience. NOT RECOMMENDED
