Unfortunately this villa, abandoned almost immediately after its construction, was used as a quarry for the construction of the other important local buildings, therefore very little remains. And to think that Nero had diverted the course of the river to have his personal lakes!

Beautiful place, enchanting ... the water is cold but a bath can be done ... there is a bit of a queue, but it's fast .. you pay 1.50 per person and they say you can stay up to an hour, but it's not true .. so many people go only for the photos so, the crowd never exists ... I have been 4 hours ... dogs can enter ...

Remains of Nero's villa visible from the road, it was his summer residence and he had bridges built over the river Aniene below which acted as dams in order to obtain three lakes where the villa and other estates were reflected.

Small archaeological site that can be easily noticed if you walk to the Benedictine monasteries or the lake of San Benedetto.

As many places in Italy, surrounded by fence and not open to public. But you can stand and see the ruins from 5 meters, but outside the fence. Not worth a stop, there are better places to stop at in the area.

Very little left to see. The original villa was much bigger. The monastery just above is a real jewel and well worth the visit.
