Excellently runned but the lady owner who tries to accommodate any of your needs. We have been in twice in 3 days. Food is outstanding,we had home-made pasta with truffle from umbria, then scaloppina al marsala, bistecca alla griglia, all the dishes were diligently cooked. Zuppa inglese Dessert to die for ,I have not had one since I was kid. Good selection of local wines, and staff has a good knowledge of it.

This is a small trattoria at the main piazza in Assisi with a small but excellent menu. The food is based on fresh products from the Umbria region and are delicious as well as very well presented. The place is usually crowded, so it is wise to make a reservation

Yikes! This place was so highly recommended. But each dish was oversalted, bland, cold, overcooked, unappetizing, or a combination of those. The service was very slow and inattentive (there were only three servers for a full house). We each ordered a tasting menu, picked at the appetizers and pasta, and left the mains untouched. The staff were kind - they were the one redeeming factor. They only charged us for half of what we ordered, which was a nice gesture. Sad to have a wasted meal in Italy after so many fantastic ones, but it's a numbers game, I suppose.

Ambience was nice but the food (we had the tagliatelle with asparagus and a mushroom pesto pasta) was rather bland. Service... Well it depends. The waiters were really attentive to most customers, but we were mostly ignored. We tried to get the attention of the waiters many times but it felt like they were intentionally looking away every time they passed by our table. In fact, a couple (God bless them!) seated at a nearby table noticed that we had been waiting for a very long time and brought this to the attention of the waiter serving them. They asked for two more wine glasses and informed their waiter that they would like to share their carafe of red wine with us because they noticed that we had been waiting really long for any form of service. Only then did a waiter come to get our order. I won't go into more details but suffice to say, service remained really slow. The only positive thing from this experience really, was meeting the wonderful couple (we happened to meet them on the way back to our hotel and had a lovely chat with them).

The restaurant we wanted to go to was closed, so we tried this one. it looked popular since lots of people were waiting. It was a bit disappointing since it was our first night in Assisi. Our waitress was abrupt and not very welcoming. The pate and the savory egg tart as starters were ok. The lasagna was acceptable but the bread was hard and stale (definitely not fresh). The best dish was pasta with truffles. Better food and better service for less money elsewhere.

Lunch at a typical Umbrian trattoria, tucked in a corner of the central square but was packed when we visited. No wonder, as the food was incredible and we had a nice window seat. The cappellacci al pecorino di fossa e miele di acacia ... simple and yet so good ????

Unbelievable! We started with meat/cheese platter and saffron croquettes then moved to mushroom pasta and boar ragu gnocchi with black truffle. One of the best meals we have had in Italy... and that is a bold statement for sure.
