First meal in Rome and one of the best. The restaurant was a short walk from my hotel on Cristoforo Columbo. The area is a little unkept so we almost gave up on as we walked past the place. Thankfully after doubling back we found the restaurant that would introduce me to carbonara. The dish was so flavorful and i wanted to return a second night but the idea was to eat our way around Rome not stay in one place. The other meal ordered was a strip steak with potatoes. We have bread and mozzarella and tomatoes. The waitress that attended to us did speak English and was very helpful. The restaurant has a front area and a back area. We were seated in the back as the front area was reserved for a private party. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and look forward to another opportunity to be SATISFIED. Search Tripadvisor for pics

Very quiet little spot hidden away in the southeast part of Rome. Owner is very nice and was patient with our poor italian. Food was tasty and prices were reasonable. The restaurant walls were adorned with classy family photos which created a nice atmosphere. Definitely a good choice if you are looking for low key experience outside the bustle of Central Rome.

My husband and I stopped here during our visit to Rome. The carbonara was the best I've ever had. I honestly haven't been able to order any since because I know it won't compare. This restaurant is on my favorites list to get back to next time we are in Rome so I can have this most delicious carbonara again.

A hidden restaurant that has very nice and welcoming staff. The chef/waiter speaks good English. Pasta is pretty much the only thing they do here but there are meatballs which I chose to have. Unfortunately I got more veg than meat which was a shame as they were very nice. The carbonara was also very nice! Tiramisu was the only dessert available; it came surrounded by a green mousse that tasted like mint aero. Overall a cosy and welcoming restaurant with authentic Italian food.

Of all the restaurants I’ve visited around the world, this is my favorite, and I visit it every time I’m in Rome. It’s a little hidden, and certainly a locals place (not at all touristy). If you enjoy great food, that won’t break your budget, and an escape from the bustling crowd, this is the place.

What a great experience, probably the best carbonara we tried in Rome. The owner was there and prepared the meal for us. We had a conversation & had a great time

The pasta had a good taste, but was salted too much. The restaurant has an authentic "mom and pop" feeling as the owners are greeting you at the entrance, and go about their own business while you eat. But it doesn't seem to attract crowds as we were the only guests this night.

We visited last September (2019) and split the amatriciana and carbonara. They were both put-your-face-in-the-plate amazing. We loved everything about this place. This is a family joint, a bit unpolished but that's a good thing to me. It feels comfortable and inviting, and as I said, the pasta was perfection. We are counting the days until we can come back and eat here again. Ciao ciao!
