Per lungo tempo si è pensato che risalisse alla fine del X secolo: recenti studi e comparazioni con edifici simili sposterebbero però la sua fondazione un po' più avanti, alla fine dell'XI. La sue funzioni erano di: avvistamento, forse di segnalazione del pericolo ad altre torri vicine con le quali era in contatto visivo, ma anche di "cassaforte" dove venivano conservati i fitti da consegnare al Capitolo di San Giulio d'Orta che era usufruttuario della zona. Solo più tardi le fu aggiunta una campana e divenne il campanile del San Nicola. Monumenti a cui tutti i Borgomaneresi dovrebbero essere particolarmente affezionati perché la "curtis regia" della Baraggiola è la prima parte del territorio comunale ad avere avuto citazione storica nell'a.d. 962 21 meters high it has come down to us in excellent condition as proof of the expertise of the "stone masters" who built it. È una torre di avvistamento del IX secolo a cui è stata affiancata una chiesa nel X, rimaneggiata da monaci verso la fine del XV secolo. Completamente restaurata negli anni 2000, è un fantastico esempio di primo romanico nella nostra zona. Very beautiful complex, little known and usually only open to the outside. It is a 9th century watchtower which was flanked by a church in the 10th, remodeled by monks towards the end of the 15th century. Completely restored in the 2000s, it is a fantastic example of early Romanesque in our area.

Risale all'incirca al X-XI Secolo. La porta d'ingresso è situata a circa 4 metri e mezzo dal suolo; per accedervi veniva utilizzata una scala a pioli, che in caso di pericolo poteva essere rimossa. Ciò dimostra l'originaria funzione difensiva dell'edificio, oltreché di avvistamento. Si tratta, inoltre, di un monumento ben valorizzato, posto in un luogo ricco di bellezze naturali, al limitare dei boschi collinari. Val bene una gita. It is one of the most important historical landmarks in the area, as well as one of the best preserved medieval towers in the entire province of Novara. It dates back to around the 10th-11th century. The entrance door is located about 4 and a half meters above the ground; a ladder was used to access it, which could be removed in case of danger. This demonstrates the original defensive function of the building, as well as a sighting. It is also a well-valued monument, located in a place rich in natural beauty, on the edge of the hilly woods. Well worth a trip.
