Il posto è dominante su tutti i versanti peccato non aver potuto godere del panorama visto di lassù. A beautiful circular tower, very impressive. The castle was closed so we could not enter. The place is dominant on all sides sin having failed to enjoy the panorama seen from up there.

Prima i bizantini, poi i normanni, gli svevi, gli angioini e gli aragonese hanno modificato, aggiunto o restaurato in castello in base all'utilizzo (dimora, caserma, prigione) o alla difesa del luogo. Fu inserito nell'elenco dei "Castra Exempta" (elenco di castelli gestiti dalla propria Curia) dalli stesso Federico II. Il prezzo del biglietto d''ingresso è esiguo. Il mio giudizio è mancante di una stella in quanto lo sforzo della comunità di Monte è concentrata totalmente sul Santuario, mentre poco si sa di altri siti cittadini. On the edge of the town, surrounded by greenery, the Tower of the Giants is an evocative place, a destination for long walks through the mountains and tourist trips to the Gargano towns. First the Byzantines, then the Normans, the Swabians, the Angevins and the Aragonese have modified, added or restored in the castle based on the use (dwelling, barracks, prison) or the defense of the place. It was included in the list of "Castra Exempta" (list of castles managed by its Curia) by Federico II himself. The price of the entrance ticket is small. My judgment is missing a star as the effort of the Monte community is totally concentrated on the Sanctuary, while little is known of other city sites.

Ci siamo fatti una bella passeggiata tutta in salita per arrivare sul monte S. Angelo per vedere il castello e per visitare anche il santuario di San Michele arcangelo. Bellissima esperienza! Spectacular visit with friends we left the car near the paid parking at a cost of three euros for the whole day. We took a nice walk all uphill to get to Mount S. Angelo to see the castle and also to visit the sanctuary of San Michele Arcangelo. Beautiful experience!

Edificata nel XI secolo, non pensavo che fosse così antica, è stata insieme al castello un punto difensivo molto importante per la zona e non solo. Addirittura Federico II, data la sua importanza la inserirà nell'elenco dei tre Castra Exempta, ovvero possedimenti gestiti direttamente dall'imperatore. Tappa irrinunciabile, sia per la bellezza del castello che degli scorci che si possono ammirare dalle sue mura; il tutto pagando un biglietto d'ingresso di appena 2€.
