Serviva inoltre come sistema di vigilanza per le campagne circostanti e per seguire le attività sul fiume Eleuterio.
Al giorno d'oggi è in cattive condizioni, meriterebbe una riqualificazione e più attenzione da parte degli amministratori.
 The Torre Cordova was part of the plan of fortifications made in the 16th century on the Sicilian coasts against the barbarian attacks.
It also served as a surveillance system for the surrounding countryside and for monitoring activities on the Eleuterio River.
Nowadays it is in bad condition, it would deserve a redevelopment and more attention from administrators.
