n	nino cervellione on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Piccolo teatro storico, viene utilizzato oltre che per spettacoli di bario genere anche per convegni e conferenze. Un Po malandato, nei periodi freddi è sconsigliato perché manca il riscaldamento, in compenso....è dotato di notevoli spifferi. Small historical theater, it is used not only for barium shows but also for conferences and conferences. A run-down Po, in cold periods, is not recommended because there is no heating, on the other hand .... it has significant drafts.

Al suo interno abbiamo incontrato un signore gentilissimo dello staff che ci ha dato tante indicazioni utili per visitare Castelvetrano, siamo stati proprio contenti di averlo incontrato. Auguriamo un grande in bocca al lupo al teatro Selinus per la prossima stagione teatrale! A beautiful theater, small but charming. Inside we met a very kind gentleman of the staff who gave us so many useful indications to visit Castelvetrano, we were really happy to have met him. We wish a big good luck to the Selinus theater for the next theater season!
R	Rino Noto on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il Teatro Selinus, opera progettata e diretta dall’architetto Giuseppe Patricolo, fu edificato sull’area dove sorgeva originariamente una modesta locanda nella quale nel 1787 soggiornò il grande poeta Wolfgang Goethe durante il suo viaggio in Sicilia. Occupa una superficie di circa 964 mq. Iniziati nel 1873, i lavori di costruzione richiesero ben 35 anni per il completamento dell'intera struttura. Nel 1908 il teatro accolse finalmente la sua prima rappresentazione. Nel 1910 si arricchì di un’opera grandiosa e di inestimabile valore realizzata da Gennaro Pardo e destinata a fungere da sipario: si tratta di un grande telone di 10x7 m che rappresenta l’apoteosi di Empedocle a Selinunte. Il teatro è in stile neoclassico e si distingue per il prospetto con colonne doriche che richiama lo stile architettonico dei templi di Selinunte. The Selinus Theater, a work designed and directed by the architect Giuseppe Patricolo, was built on the area where a modest inn originally stood where the great poet Wolfgang Goethe stayed during his trip to Sicily in 1787. It occupies an area of approximately 964 square meters. Construction began in 1873 and took 35 years to complete the entire structure. In 1908 the theater finally welcomed its first performance. In 1910 it was enriched with a grandiose and invaluable work created by Gennaro Pardo and intended to act as a curtain: it is a large 10x7 m canvas that represents the apotheosis of Empedocles in Selinunte. The theater is in neoclassical style and is distinguished by the façade with Doric columns which recalls the architectural style of the temples of Selinunte.

La facciata ricorda un tempio della vicina area archeologica di Selinunte, l'antica Selinus appunto. All'interno un ambiente circolare ricorda un pantheon ellenico, il sipario è una vera e propria opera d'arte, l'acustica della sala è a dir poco eccezionale. This theater is a jewel in the heart of the town of Castelvetrano. It is a nineteenth-century neoclassical building. The façade recalls a temple of the nearby archaeological area of Selinunte, the ancient Selinus indeed. Inside, a circular environment recalls a Hellenic pantheon, the curtain is a real work of art, the acoustics of the room are nothing short of exceptional.
