A deconsecrated church in the center that since the 70s has become the studio and home of the sculptor Francesco Messina. The sculptures are interesting, and it is also a nice experience to be able to visit all the environments where the artist worked, even if obviously now they are only exhibition spaces.

In via San Sisto in Milan, we are at Carrobbio, in a deconsecrated church, an important museum preserves magnificent works by the great sculptor Francesco Messina, among the many sketches made on the occasion of the creation of the symbolic statue of RAI, the horse in Viale Mazzini in Rome, fifteen sculptures depicting horses in various attitudes. But not only. Temporary exhibitions are set up periodically dedicated to contemporary artists who exhibit their works in dialogue with the works of Messina.

This magical little museum (which was also Francesco Messina's studio for several years) is housed in the city center, in a deconsecrated church in Via San Sisto 4, with free admission. Here is preserved a part of his work, donated to the Municipality of Milan and to the Milanese. About eighty splendid sculptures are elegantly exhibited: plaster casts, bronzes, terracotta. I would define the smallest as wonderful, adorable for the elegant technique with which they are built. Dancers, small bronze horses, Adam and Eve ...... make you want to own them (forgive me), to be able to admire them always.
