Lavorata a Ferrara e alta più di sei metri, è dedicata al cittadino che si unì ai movimenti carbonari. Santorre di Santa Rosa (1783-1825) fu sindaco di questa città, poi divenne sottoprefetto a La Spezia e Ministeri della Guerra e di Marina nel Governo costituzionale piemontese. Visse gli ultimi anni della sua vita in esilio: Svizzera, Francia e, infine, Gran Bretagna. The statue, inserted in the homonymous square, was inaugurated in 1869, six years after its conception. Worked in Ferrara and more than six meters high, it is dedicated to the citizen who joined the Carbonari movements. Santorre di Santa Rosa (1783-1825) was mayor of this city, then he became sub-prefect of La Spezia and ministries of war and navy in the Piedmontese constitutional government. He lived the last years of his life in exile: Switzerland, France and, finally, Great Britain.

Santorre viene rappresentato nelle vesti di Primo Ministro della Guerra , ruolo che ricoprì nel 1821, con una copia della Costituzione in una mano e una corona di allora e la spada nell’altra. La statua di Santorre di Santarosa venne edificata dallo scultore romano Giuseppe Luchetti Rossi nell’allora piazza Vecchia, grazie ad una raccolta fondi promossa dal Comune: vennero emesse azioni da cinque Lire l’una, da sottoscrivere come contributo al finanziamento dell’opera. Il monumento venne inaugurato il 22 agosto 1869, in concomitanza con la festa della Madonna della Sanità. Between the ancient Town Hall and the imposing Triumphal Arch, the statue of Santorre di Santa Rosa watches over the entire square. Santorre is represented in the guise of Prime Minister of War, a role he held in 1821, with a copy of the Constitution in one hand and a crown of the time and a sword in the other. The statue of Santorre di Santarosa was built by the Roman sculptor Giuseppe Luchetti Rossi in the then Piazza Vecchia, thanks to a fundraiser promoted by the Municipality: shares of five Lire each were issued, to be subscribed as a contribution to the financing of the work. The monument was inaugurated on 22 August 1869, coinciding with the feast of the Madonna della Sanità.
