I romani utilizzavano queste statue per appendere in forma anonima sonetti o testi di critica verso le autorità.
 The statue of Madama Lucrezia is one of the six talking statues in Rome. With Pasquino, Abbot Luigi, Babuino and the others of the so-called “Congrega degli Arguti”, she is the only woman of the group. The Romans used these statues to hang sonnets or texts of criticism towards the authorities anonymously.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La meno nota ma la più interessante. Purtroppo la scarsa fama la rende ora la meno utilizzata tra tutte le statue parlanti in giro per Roma. Tra l'altro essendo l'unica statua femminile si crea una disparità di trattamento di genere. Bistrattata nella vita quando cadde in disgrazia ora passa inosservata in un angolo accanto a una delle chiese più belle ma meno visitate dei dintorni. Guardate le foto e le altre recensioni su Roma e le sue meraviglie.
The least known but the most interesting. Unfortunately, the lack of fame now makes it the least used of all the talking statues around Rome. Among other things, being the only female statue creates an inequality of gender treatment. Abused in life when she fell out of favor, she now goes unnoticed in a corner next to one of the most beautiful but least visited churches in the area.
