Imposing statue of an Italian Poet located in a charming square, worth including on a walking tour of Verona, especially with some 5 star locations nearby.

the monument to Dante Alighieri Italian poet. Surrounded by beautiful medieval palaces, the statue shows all its beauty and splendor. The statue was made by Ugo Zannoni in marble of Carrara. It was set up in 1875 because the city decided to build a monument devoted to the most important Italian poet. Because Dante was a guest Scaligeri in Verona during his exile from Florence. H

At Piazza dei Signori is a monument to the great Danteu Alighieri who lived for about 6 years in Verona after Florence exiles. The statue was built in 1865 and represents a large poet in an imaginary position, with a deed in hand and a finger under his chin that gives him a deep look, almost strict. Under your feet you can read the term "Danteu first refuge" Thanks to the monument of the Grand Poet, Trg Veronesi usually call Piazza Dante.
