★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Da piazza Brà prendendo per la lunga e stretta via Mazzini si arriva nel salotto di Verona, Piazza delle Erbe. Magnifica piazza medievale con al centro la fontana "Madonna Verona", rappresentazione simbolica della città di Verona voluta dalla famiglia Della Scala, signori di Verona, per volere di Cansignorio nel 1368. Verona viene simboleggia come una bella regina (mea domina), contratto in Madonna. Nello stelo che regge il piedistallo della statua sono raffigurati i volti dei quattro regnanti della città: Vero, Alboino, Berengario e Verona Regina.
L'iscrizione della statua sta a dire "E’ città che dispensa giustizia ed ama la lode".
From Piazza Brà, taking the long and narrow Via Mazzini, you arrive in the Verona living room, Piazza delle Erbe. Magnificent medieval square with the fountain "Madonna Verona" in the center, symbolic representation of the city of Verona commissioned by the Della Scala family, lords of Verona, at the behest of Cansignorio in 1368. Verona is symbolized as a beautiful queen (mea domina), contracted in Madonna. In the stem that holds the pedestal of the statue the faces of the four rulers of the city are represented: Vero, Alboino, Berengario and Verona Regina.
The inscription of the statue is to say "It is a city that dispenses justice and loves praise".
