★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nella grande piazza del Duomo, si ritaglia un piccolo spazio la Statua del Crostolo, posta sulla sommità di una piccola fontana. Si trova qui dal 1802 e rappresenta il fiume Crostolo (oggi un torrente) che, un tempo, scorreva all' interno delle mura di Reggio Emilia.
In the large Piazza del Duomo, a small space is carved out of the Statue of Crostolo, placed on top of a small fountain. It has been located here since 1802 and represents the Crostolo river (today a stream) which once flowed within the walls of Reggio Emilia.

Ai piedi c'è una fontanella, in certi periodi può essere utile.
Lo è comunque per i vari piccioni che abitano la piazza.
Come altre statue antiche, essendo stata costruita con materiale friabile, le intemperie hanno modificato i lineamenti del gigante che simboleggia il torrente Crostolo.

At the foot there is a fountain, in certain periods it can be useful.

Sicuramente un ottima opera in una posizione che la valorizza a sufficienza. Completa degnamente il profilo di questa bella piazza.
Statue with good historical interest, probably attributable to Bolognini, was part of the artistic compendium of a historic villa before being exhibited in this square.
