★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Descrizione del bronzo: Trattasi del monumento alla Resistenza reggiana. Esso consta di una pregevole opera in bronzo dello scultore Remo Brioschi posta su basamento in granito. La scultura rappresenta gli ultimi istanti di vita di un gruppo di vittime del nazifascismo. L’iconografia è quella del martirio: le vibrazioni dei piani di luce e il riverbero dei bronzi seguono la tensione verticale delle aste che sostengono il peso dei corpi delle vittime civili ed evocano sentimenti d’eroismo e sofferenza. Il monumento venne realizzato grazie ad una sottoscrizione pubblica che coinvolse l’intera provincia. L’inaugurazione è avvenuta il 25 aprile 1958
Description of the bronze: This is the monument to the Reggio resistance. It consists of a valuable bronze work by the sculptor Remo Brioschi placed on a granite base. The sculpture represents the last moments of life of a group of victims of Nazifascism. The iconography is that of martyrdom: the vibrations of the planes of light and the reverberation of the bronzes follow the vertical tension of the rods that support the weight of the bodies of civilian victims and evoke feelings of heroism and suffering. The monument was built thanks to a public subscription that involved the entire province. The inauguration took place on April 25, 1958

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Senza entrare nel dettaglio storico, ma valutando solo la scultura, bisogna dire che è un lavoro veramente di fattura eccezionale, con un significato sia visivo che simbolico veramente ben rappresentati. Il bronzo, come materiale, si presta benissimo a questo soggetto e alla sua realizzazione.
Without going into the historical detail, but evaluating only the sculpture, it must be said that it is a truly exceptional work, with both visual and symbolic meaning really well represented. Bronze, as a material, lends itself very well to this subject and its realization.
