★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This can be possibly have been my best stay in Milan (And I traveled a lot to Milan).
Staff is extremely nice, room is great, neighborhood is unbelievable.
If I really have to find something to complain (but I am almost ashamed to mention) is the lobby is tiny... but who is going to stay in the lobby anyway?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I could not be more unhappy with our stay at Speronari and caution anyone booking this hotel.
We stayed here as our last evening of our honeymoon, which was such a wonderful and perfect trip after the stress of a wedding during covid. We are so happy we only had to stay one night here and caution you on choosing this hotel—we wish we had chosen quite literally any of the nearby hotels instead.
We arrived from northern Italy by car and had a very difficult time locating the hotel—there isn’t parking, which isn’t truly a problem, but it would have been helpful knowledge to have beforehand with details to the nearby duomo parking lot we were directed to. It’s also on a pedestrian street and confuses navigation apps.
Our room was stuffy and 26 degrees Celsius when we walked in. The air conditioning didn’t work in our room, and we were told that it is only controlled by the front desk. The gentleman told us he would turn it on for us and our room would be cool post dinner. Okay, no problem. Although, quite inconvenient if you get cold/hot in the middle of the night and need to change the temperature in your pjs given you have to go all the way to the lobby. In the middle of the night.
(Oh because our in room phone didn’t work either)
We came home from dinner to a different employee at the front desk, who informed us (after walking into our STILL incredibly hot room) that the AC wasn’t working for the whole hotel. You could assume the previous employee knew that but also knew he was almost off work and it wouldn’t be his problem…we asked for a fan to bring in cooler air from outside (it was 26C in Milan that day and still MUCH cooler than our sweaty room) but there was no fan. No fan. No AC. Hot room.
Icing on the cake is the VERY popular restaurant downstairs. Which sounds so lovely and easy as a hotel guest right? Well, it’s currently 1:30am, SO HOT in our room, our last night of our honeymoon, and I can hear EVERY word of the drunk conversations below and of course smell smoke because my window has to be open because there’s no ac and the room is SO HOT.
Btw, the employee at the front desk was not sympathetic at all and the price we paid was not cheap. There are much nicer hotels in the area for a better price.
Pros are the distance to the duomo—we walked there in 4 mins when we realized we wouldn’t be sleeping anytime soon due the heat and the yelling below.
Heads up there isn’t a closet or a wardrobe or a dresser, so if you’re a female staying longer than one night you won’t have anyway to hang a dress (hangers are only over a desk which doesn’t support anything of length) and there’s no where to put underwear etc. You’ll be living out of your suitcase.
In short, the room is basic and yes the bathroom is modern (although my shower did flood the entire bathroom because the shower floor is not actually sloped), but this hotel is far from the amenities and service to live up to previous reviews or be on the website we read about it on. Beware.
