A little known path but perhaps the most beautiful of the surroundings. Beautiful view of the lake, exciting the part with the chains. Mega recommended.

Beautiful but challenging not recommended for families with children .. it is too demanding although it is equipped there are very exposed points ... nice but not for everyone ...

Sinceramente consiglio di farlo in sicurezza con imbrago e moschettoni. Beautiful path, but too underestimated ..... the path is aided, but in some places it is very exposed. I honestly recommend doing it safely with a harness and carabiners.
D	Davide Rongoni on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Uno dei sentieri più apprezzati e panoramici nell'ambito dei sentieri che portano ad esplorare il San Martino e nella fattispecie giungono al rifugio Piazza. Essendo un sentiero attrezzato, pur abbastanza semplice, presenta dei punti esposti e da affrontare con cautela e con le dovute attrezzature. Il sentiero si prende direttamente da Lecco, da Via stelvio o da via Montebello. L'itinerario si sviluppa per il primo tratto in modo semplice poi diventa più impegnativo (se volete complicare un pochino la salita e ravanare un po' scegliete di salire dal canale, se salite da via Stelvio dovete, al bivio, andare qualche metro a dx e poi subito a sinistra altrimenti, arrivando dall'altra parte, nei pressi della falesia c'è un sasso con indicato il canale). Il sentiero vi fa salire, con un bel traverso, la Parete del san Martino che si affaccia sopra Lecco e il lago. Percorribile in tutte le stagioni (anche se in estate si cuoce ?) e tutti gli orari . Suggerisco il tramonto per degli scorci fantastici One of the most popular and panoramic paths in the context of the paths that lead to explore the San Martino and in this case reach the Piazza refuge. Being an aided path, albeit quite simple, it has some exposed points to be faced with caution and with the necessary equipment. The path can be taken directly from Lecco, from Via stelvio or from via Montebello. The itinerary develops for the first stretch in a simple way then becomes more challenging (if you want to complicate the climb a little and ravanare a bit, choose to go up from the canal, if you go up from via Stelvio you have to go a few meters to the right at the crossroads and then immediately left otherwise, arriving from the other side, near the cliff there is a stone with the canal indicated). The path takes you up, with a nice traverse, the Wall of San Martino which overlooks Lecco and the lake. Accessible in all seasons (even if it cooks in summer ?) and at all times. I suggest the sunset for some fantastic views
A	Alan R on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Si parte dal parcheggio in via Santo Stefano a Lecco . Sentiero attrezzato con catene e con punti molto esposti . Panorami stupendi. Una volta raggiunto il rifugio Piazza si può tornare dal sentiero che raggiunge la cappelletta Madonna del carmine e scendere verso il cimitero di rancio. Una volta scesi in prossimità della stalla con gli asini svoltando a dx si raggiunge il parcheggio di partenza. L'anello sono circa 8 km. It starts from the car park in via Santo Stefano in Lecco. Path equipped with chains and with very exposed points. Stunning views. Once you have reached the Piazza refuge, you can return from the path that reaches the Madonna del Carmine chapel and descend towards the rancio cemetery. Once you get off near the stable with the donkeys, turning right you will reach the starting parking lot. The ring is about 8 km.
J	Jakub Stuchlik on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful views! I just recommend to come with proper hiking boots and outfit as the hike is quite technical sometimes. Thats why we have not continued further. We will be back in spring with better outfits. ???
I	Ignacio Muñoz on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice hiking but complicated. Not to come with small kids. The paths are stiff and really technical. You can make it with really good boots and some entry level hiking outfit. The way to rifugio is not long but as it's technical you can easily spend 4/5 hours on it. Really recomendable for those that want some active holiday or just to challenge themselves. The views at the top are breathtaking!
