Essere qui in questa chiesa per l'ultimo saluto ad un caro amico mi ha lasciato il tempo di pregare insieme a tanti altri fedeli. Small very beautiful and ideal for gathering in prayer. La basilica è all'ingresso del paese e merita una sosta per la visita. We arrived in Asciano with the Nature Train and after a route on the crests of the Crete Senesi. Si trova in posizione sopraelevata rispetto al resto del paese, si raggiunge salendo una monumentale scalinata. Da non perdere se si passa nei dintorni. Together with the wheat fountain and the civic tower, it is the most characteristic monument of Asciano. It is located in an elevated position compared to the rest of the country, it can be reached by climbing a monumental staircase. Don't miss it if you pass around.

L’interno appare bello nella sua semplicità che contribuisce alla spiritualità all’ambiente, quasi fosse un invito alla meditazione. Completamente fuori luogo il poster sulla facciata che viene deturpata nella sua originalità mistica dall’enorme accessorio oltretutto fissato al muro con tasselli e fascette. Non pensavo potesse esistere più nessuno che, dopo il 1800, avesse idea di bucare, scavare, modificare manufatti antichi di valore storico. Austere in its architectural lines, it is located at the top of a staircase that makes it appear, taking advantage of the perspective, perhaps larger than it really is. The interior looks beautiful in its simplicity which contributes to the spirituality of the environment, almost as if it were an invitation to meditation. The poster on the facade is completely out of place and is defaced in its mystical originality by the huge accessory, moreover fixed to the wall with dowels and clamps. I didn't think there could be anyone who, after 1800, had any idea of piercing, digging, modifying ancient artifacts of historical value.
