★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Rocca Ceppino è il borgo più basso delle Rocche, è composto di una piazzetta circondata da vecchie case, alcune delle quali , purtroppo, abbandonate e diroccate. E' affascinante girare per le stradine e cogliere gli elementi caratteristici della vita rurale di una volta, come il forno comunitario, che veniva usato un tempo a turno dalle varie famiglie per cuocere il pane, la fontana con il lavatoio pubblico, le antiche casette costruite l'una addossata all'altra. Affascinante è poi percorrere le gallerie sotterranee che univano le case. All'arco c'era la vecchia casa della famiglia Lizzi, da dove partì il mio bisnonno Giuseppe (Peppino) emigrato negli USA, a Trenton, New Jersey. Della sua famiglia conserviamo una fotografia del 1925 che è un fotomontaggio, con la sua foto scattata in America, ricucita accanto alla foto della famiglia rimasta a Ceppino
Rocca Ceppino is the lowest village of the Rocche, it is composed of a small square surrounded by old houses, some of which, unfortunately, abandoned and dilapidated. It is fascinating to wander the streets and gather the characteristic elements of the rural life of the past, such as the community oven, which was once used in turn by the various families to cook bread, the fountain with the public washhouse, the ancient houses built one against the other. It is also fascinating to go through the underground tunnels that united the houses. At the arch was the old home of the Lizzi family, from where my great-grandfather Giuseppe (Peppino) emigrated to the USA, to Trenton, New Jersey. We keep a photograph of his family from 1925 which is a photomontage, with his photo taken in America, stitched up next to the photo of the family left in Ceppino
