Proprietario e personale molto disponibili e cordiali, stanno cercando di rialzarsi dal terremoto del centro italia. C'è anche un laghetto per pescare e una piscina con sdraio per rinfrescarsi.
Here I ate amatriciana best in my life. Both red and white. They specialize in this. Very helpful and friendly owner and staff, they are trying to get up from the earthquake in central Italy. There is also a pond for fishing and a swimming pool with deck chairs to cool off.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Purtroppo ho cenato, diverse volte in questo locale, quando c'è stato il terremoto. Ero venuta con i soccorsi, a dare aiuto alla popolazione. Nonostante la situazione, il cibo è stato ottimo e il personale altrettanto. Spero che col tempo, non siano cambiate le cose, specialmente la forza per andare avanti, farsi nuovi clienti e riprendere l attività di una volta. E spero di ritornare presto, a mangiare nel vostro locale.
Unfortunately I dined in this place several times when the earthquake hit. I had come with help, to help the population. Despite the situation, the food was great and the staff as well. I hope that over time, things have not changed, especially the strength to move forward, get new customers and resume the business of yesteryear. And I hope to return soon, to eat in your restaurant.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Se cercate un posto ad Amatrice dove mangiare bene e sentirvi a casa vostra, il Ristorante Lo Scoiattolo fa al caso vostro. Per me una metà fissa da anni e utilizzo spesso la Gricia che fanno qui come metro di paragone per gli altri posti. Antipasto a dir poco fantastico, con tante tipologie diverse di salumi, degni di nota sono sicuramente il prosciutto e la salsiccia di fegato, tutto fatto da loro. Consiglio vivamente! Piatti molto molto abbondanti e prezzi leggermente alti, ma guardando a quello che abbiamo mangiato direi che ci riteniamo ampiamente soddisfatti.
N.B. Questo posto alcuni anni fa ha subito gravi danni a causa del terremoto, vedere come si sono attrezzati e con che spirito il personale, serve ai tavoli è qualcosa che dovrebbe farci riflettere molto. Bravi bravi bravi!!!
If you are looking for a place in Amatrice where you can eat well and feel at home, the Lo Scoiattolo Restaurant is for you. For me a fixed half for years and I often use the Gricia that they make here as a yardstick for other places. Starter to say the least fantastic, with many different types of cured meats, noteworthy are certainly the ham and liver sausage, all made by them. I highly recommend! Very very abundant dishes and slightly high prices, but looking at what we ate I would say that we are largely satisfied.
N.B. This place a few years ago suffered serious damage due to the earthquake, seeing how they are equipped and with what spirit the staff serve at the tables is something that should make us reflect a lot. Good good good !!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Titolari (2 fratelli) gentilissimi e cordiali con cui ho avuto il piacere di fare una chiacchierata inerente ai problemi passati con il terremoto e che ancora non sono stati risolti causa burocrazia e fondi mai arrivati. La location al momento (Pasqua 2022) purtroppo non è delle migliori in quanto ci sono ancora 2 strutture da abbattere e ricostruire ma in compenso il laghetto di pesca sportiva, la piscina (in estate), i bungalow ma soprattutto l'ottimo ristorante compensano pienamente la vacanza! Al momento non sono riusciti a ripristinare la zona camping per camper e tende però se ci si accontenta c'è la possibilità di sostare in una radura pianeggiante (sempre di loro proprietà) al di là di un ponticello su un ruscello (per l'acqua potabile c'è da spostarsi o dotarsi di taniche)
Owners (2 brothers) very kind and cordial with whom I had the pleasure of having a chat concerning the past problems with the earthquake and which have not yet been resolved due to bureaucracy and funds never arrived. The location at the moment (Easter 2022) is unfortunately not the best as there are still 2 structures to be demolished and rebuilt but on the other hand the sport fishing lake, the swimming pool (in summer), the bungalows but above all the excellent restaurant fully compensate the holiday! At the moment they have not been able to restore the camping area for campers and tents but if you are satisfied there is the possibility to stop in a flat clearing (also owned by them) beyond a bridge over a stream (for water drinking water needs to be moved or equipped with jerrycans)
