★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bellissima struttura di epoca romana, appoggiato sulla vallata del torrente Tessino, dove Ponziano da Spoleto, divenuto Santo e protettore della stessa, si narra che fu messo nell'Anfiteatro coi leoni, i quali, però, non lo assalirono. Allora fu fatto camminare sui carboni ardenti, ma non ne riportò ingiuria alcuna. Quindi fu incarcerato senza cibo nè acqua, ma sopravvisse perchè gli angeli gli portarono gli alimenti. Infine nel 174 D.C. fu decapitato sul ponte del Tessino, che da allora assunse il nome di "sanguinario". La sua testa con un balzo (con tre, secondo altri) andò a cadere nel luogo ove ora è la Chiesa a lui dedicata, facendo incredibilmente un lungo tratto e per di più in salita. E dove si fermò zampillò una fonte.
