A permanent collection gives an overview of modernism in Italy with a focus on the important place of Spoleto and its competitive art exhibitions during the 1960s. A highlight is the room dedicated to the 1962 "Sculture in the City" experimental public art exhibition in Spoleto. Temporary exhibitiona are installed in the original 18th century noble apartments that still have their wall treatments, some furnishings, and paintings from the 17th to the 19th centuries.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Outstanding collection of postwar art in the exhibition spaces of the Museo Caradente. The building itself is an architectural masterpiece and is complemented by a visit to the galleries on the Piano Nobile. Here, the historical rooms provide a beautiful backdrop to the artworks ranging from the Renaissance until today. A very satisfying museum.
