Old piece of ancient bridge. Build before 100 BC. Only one small piece is left in the middle of the river. Do not in use anymore. A kind of sculpture with regards to us from ancient times.

Formidable piece of ancient engineering, you can see with what detail this piece of bridge was built with amazing width and height, and in those days without machines, amazing structure.

The Pons Aemilius was built in the 2nd century B.C. This one arch standing in the Tiber is the only remain of the bridge. It is also called Ponte Rotto which means "broken bridge".

The oldest Stone bridge of Rome, from 200 BC, started to break down a few hundred years ago and then 2 of 3 remaining arcs were destroyed to make way for a new bridge used until today

Looking at it from above (from Ponte Palatino) or from river level (from the bike lane of the Lungotevere) you will admire its beauty and simply travel some 2300 years back in history. Worth the visit

While traveling across the bridge, you'll get a chance to see this amazing arch. A piece of Rome's history preserve through time. #freeromesight
