n	nicola martinelli on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Originariamente la Pieve era sita sul lato opposto a dove oggi è la chiesa pochi centinaia di metri più in avanti arrivando da Siena. L immobile della Pieve, originariamente dotato di una torre sul lato più vicino alla strada, è stimato essere il più antico di tutto il comune di Siena. Le prime fonti sulla chiesa si perdono nel XII secolo, ma dell antico impianto romanico non rimane più traccia. Oggi la chiesa si manifesta con una facciata rinascimentale e con un interno per lo più spoglio di ogni addobbo. Originally the Pieve was located on the opposite side to where today the church is a few hundred meters ahead coming from Siena. The building of the Pieve, originally equipped with a tower on the side closest to the road, is estimated to be the oldest of the entire municipality of Siena. The first sources on the church are lost in the 12th century, but no trace remains of the ancient Romanesque structure. Today the church manifests itself with a Renaissance façade and with an interior that is mostly bare of every decoration.
e	elvira di blasi on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Luogo interessante La pieve è nota dai documenti dal XII e sorge in una zona spesso terreno di scontro tra Siena Arezzo e Firenze. Da questa pieve dipendevano in passato una gran quantità di chiesette (tolfe,vignano,santa regina,vico d'arbja,presciano,san pietro a paterno,valdipugna ..). Sinceramente la pieve attuale non mi ha colpito essendo una comune chiesa,sobria,rinascimentale. (ma darei un occhio alle case attorno..) Dall'altro lato della strada, poco più in avanti andando in direzione Crete,c'è pero' un torre e proprio accanto una piccola casa,che in precedenza è stata la pieve più antica! Purtroppo essendo dentro un complesso privato non mi sono sentita (stavolta..)di avvicinarmi troppo,e l'intonaco nasconde le murature a quel che ho potuto vedere. Il contesto al solito rurale bello e ameno. Pochi metri piu' indietro andando in direzione Siena ,sta un ponticello sul Bozzone . subito a destra del ponte sul Bozzone,sta un sentiero che porta alla confluenza tra Bozzone e il torrentello Bolgione. Darei anche un occhio alla base del ponticello sul Bolgione ,che sta prima ancora,perché alcune parti mi sembrano in pietra e non in mattoni o altro.... Interesting place The parish church is known from documents from the 12th century and rises in an area that is often a battleground between Siena, Arezzo and Florence. In the past, a large number of small churches depended on this parish (tolfe, vignano, santa regina, vico d'arbja, presciano, san pietro a paterno, valdipugna ..). Honestly, the current parish did not impress me as it is a common, sober, Renaissance church. (but I would take a look at the houses around ..) On the other side of the road, a little further on going towards Crete, there is however a tower and right next to it a small house, which was previously the oldest parish church! Unfortunately, being inside a private complex, I didn't feel (this time ..) to get too close, and the plaster hides the walls from what I could see. The usual rural context is beautiful and pleasant. A few meters further back going towards Siena, there is a bridge over the Bozzone. immediately to the right of the bridge over the Bozzone, there is a path that leads to the confluence between Bozzone and the Bolgione torrent. I would also take a look at the base of the bridge over the Bolgione, which is even earlier, because some parts seem to me in stone and not brick or anything else ....
