★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gioiello ritrovato dopo anni di restauri. Da qui i primi di settembre del 1260 partirono le truppe senesi verso la vittoria di Montaperti. Di quell'epoca resta solo il campanile della chiesa, che ha tante finestre quante erano le Compagnie militari della città che si mossero da qui verso il luogo della battaglia.
Jewel found after years of restoration. From here in early September 1260 the Sienese troops left for the victory of Montaperti. From that time, only the bell tower of the church remains, which has as many windows as there were the military companies of the city that moved from here to the battle site.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ E' l'unica chiesa a Siena manierista barocca (mentre che S. Maria in Provenzano segue lo stile barocco per antonomasia).
Conserva all'interno un' eccezionale tela che rappresenta San Giorgio e il Drago (ovviamente visto che la chiesa è dedicata a questo Santo) di Sebastiano Conca, il miglior allievo di Solimena, maestro di Avellino, capostipite del barocco napoletano: eccezionale e irripetibile il ritmo e la strutturazione dell'opera d'arte.
Vi sono anche diverse tele seicentesche di esponenti del tardo barocco senese (Salita al Calvario, Dormitio Virginis e Crocefissione).
Chiesa molto bella e degna di esser visitata!!!!
It is the only Baroque Mannerist church in Siena (while S. Maria in Provenzano follows the baroque style par excellence).
Inside it preserves an exceptional canvas representing Saint George and the Dragon (obviously since the church is dedicated to this Saint) by Sebastiano Conca, the best pupil of Solimena, master of Avellino, progenitor of the Neapolitan Baroque: exceptional and unrepeatable the rhythm and structuring of the work of art.
There are also several seventeenth-century paintings by exponents of the late Sienese Baroque (Salita al Calvario, Dormitio Virginis and Crocefissione).
Very beautiful church worth visiting !!!!
