p	paolo margarita on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pieve molto interessante restaurata molte volte nel corso dei secoli, la prima struttura é risalente al 1200, nel corso dei vari restauri son stati ripirtati a vivo gli affreschi purtroppo non integri delle navate laterali. Bellissimo pavimento in antico cotto toscano. Vi si conserva una copia del politico di Pietro Lorenzetti in una cappella laterale all' altare maggiore ( originale conservato al museo di Pienza ) Very interesting parish church restored many times over the centuries, the first structure dates back to 1200, during the various restorations the frescoes unfortunately not intact in the side naves were repainted. Beautiful floor in ancient Tuscan terracotta. There is a copy of Pietro Lorenzetti's politician in a chapel on the side of the main altar (original preserved in the Pienza museum)

La Chiesetta è riccamente affrescata e contiene un meraviglioso dipinto di Madonna col bambino di Pietro Lorenzetti. Lo ricordo con emozione, come uno dei borghi italiani più belli. Monticchiello is a charming Borgo. Cared for with love and dedication by its inhabitants, in every detail. It's all a garden. The small church is richly frescoed and contains a wonderful painting of the Madonna and child by Pietro Lorenzetti. I remember it with emotion, as one of the most beautiful Italian villages.

Caterina d'Alessandria. Parish church, renovated in the Gothic style in the fourteenth century, with an imposing facade and a beautiful portal. The interior has a spacious nave with terracotta flooring and, on the walls, frescoes from the fourteenth century, damaged and partially restored, by an anonymous Sienese depicting the life of St. Catherine of Alexandria.

Da non andarci apposta, ma se siete in paese, entrate! As you enter, a huge church in such a small village. Frescoes from different eras, a perfect echo in the silence of the village.
