Best bit is the free wine tasting/tours you can have. Make sure you book. But if not just drop down and hope on of the helpers are free.
Does have a restaurant but it was shut when we went.

β β β β β The tour, the cellar, the wine, the history, the hospitality all makes a visit worthwhile.
Ron - the vino expert - was genuine enthusiastic and made the experience unique.
Also learned that the stairway was featured in Twilight - New Moon. Not that Iβm a fan, but - fun-to-know facts.

β β β β β This is a must visit! As soon as we walked in, we were treated with such great customer service. On top of that the wine is fabulous!
On another note, a small part of Twilight New Moon was filmed here.

β β β β β We were fortunate to encounter Nicoli outside and he graciously showed us around, gave us descriptions of all his wines, and a taste even though we weren't on the current tasting. Excellent wines, 6 bottles are headed home now. A long history and fantastic experience.

β β β β β We purchased the $15 Euro tour and tasting - based on a recommendation from a friend. It was more than worth it - we had a very informative tour and explanation of the wine and the history of the winery from an excellent guide - Ron - who spoke perfect English. This was followed by tasting of at least three different wines as well as a small plate each of antipasto along with bread in their beautiful tasting room. There are many free tastings in Montepulciano but we would happily pay the 15 Euro again to have the experience at De'Ricci

β β β β β This is one of the best wine tours Iβve had in Italy. It was the perfect length lasting about an hour. I did it in English and the man who lead it was awesome. Super friendly and super knowledgeable.
The tasting was great you can choose different size tasting for different price I recommend trying the 6 because why not. The food was small and nothin crazy special but also they answered any questions while you tasted it was great.
Also you can drive up to their place in the ZTL if you want to buy and not carry it to your car. They can call the police and tell them your plate and you are good to go. No issues.
I would return in a heartbeat.

β β β β β Fantastic experience! The cellar is marvelous and the guided tour was extremely well organized and interesting. I also appreciated a lot the wine tasting at the end. Each bottle is introduced with a comprehensive and clear description, so that tasting the different glasses becomes easier even if you are not a wine expert!

β β β β β What an unforgettable experience. I have toured my fair share of wineries but this one was truly special. The insanely interesting history of the place with a medieval cathedral for a cellar make this place a true gem. The wines are also fantastic and our tour guide was very knowledgeable and passionate. This place is really a total package.
