Un vanto per l'Italia, basti ricordare la prima tratta ferroviaria italiana Portici-Napol. Luogo anche scenario di un tragico evento storico : l'eccidio di pietrarsa. a strage di Pietrarsa, avvenuta il 6 agosto 1863, fu un eccidio compiuto dal Regio Esercito ai danni degli operai delle Officine di Pietrarsa The most important railway museum (if not the only one). Ben fatto il video che introduce al funzionamento della Bayard che nel 1839 trainò il convoglio inaugurale della Napoli-Portici, primo tratto ferroviario dell'Europa continentale. C'è una biglietteria per entrare nel piazzale enorme e aperto da cui si accede nei vari luoghi chiusi dove sono esposte le fantastiche locomotive. É possibile vedere anche un bellissimo video in 3D. Di proprietà delle FS è tenuto in maniera eccezionale: pulito, bene organizzo e ricco di cose da vedere. È ricostruita in un unico luogo la storia delle ferrovie italiane (dalla prima tratta napoli-portici ai moderni treni veloci). Trattasi di un antica officina per la produzione e la manutenzione di locomotori. Bellissima il.filmato multimediale che riferisce i primordi delle ferrovie con il.primo viaggio in treno del re di napoli. Bello il.giardino proprio sul mare.
