★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Every time I visit Siracusa I go to Pescomare! Excellent food and wonderful service, the same family has operated the restaurant for 41 years. Luisa, Federico, and the entire staff are always kind and generous, would recommend to anyone visiting Siracusa!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I visit Sicily often and have been coming to Pescomare since 1996. An absolutely wonderful family-run place in a beautiful courtyard. Some of the freshest and best seafood you will ever eat. Louisa and her son Frederico treat me like family now. I went there because of a Lonely Planet guidebook recommendation and have never regretted it.

Although the location is quite quaint, set in a courtyard beside an old historic building, the restaurant still needs improve on the dishes the are serving. The pasta dishes were tasteless and we needed to add all the parmesan cheese that was given to us. We order a plate of fried seafood for an appetizer. The shrimps were too small, shrunken from bad quality (too much water). See photo. Don't order any wine from a bottle. Ours had cork taste in it and we were told by the waiter that it was just bought in the morning, and couldn't be bad. The bill was written in handwriting, old school, and very difficult to deceiver. See photo. This was the worst food experience we've had yet!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food was excellent, a simple spaghetti with oil, garlic and chilli.
Shame the staff (one in particular) didn't feel it necessary to wear his mask to protect customers, and himself, from covid. When challenged he put it on when visible to us but removed it as soon as he thought we couldn't see him.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We chose this place because It looks very cosy from outside. But the food is just terribly bad, and way too expensive for what it is. It is just hilarious to have eat Pizza In Italy with this standard. The service was good, personals were friendly and helpful, however they do not speak much English. Furthermore they didn’t take card, we had to go out to withdraw money from the ATM. Overall it was a Very unpleasant dinner experience, we won’t be back there again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This pizzeria was hidden away in a quaint little courtyard near the main squares of Ortigia. We were looking for a delicious and authentic pizza and we were not disappointed. Sebastiano, the owner, greeted us when we arrived and welcomed us into his restaurant. We felt at home immediately, as if we were friends coming to visit. If you are looking for a warm atmosphere, welcoming people and an authentic experience amongst the touristic Ortigia, go to Pescomare. You will not regret it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great location, horrible service! Made a reservation which meant nothing, was served water, but literally had to track them down in the kitchen to get any service. Didn't even get a table cloth when every other table had one! Food was okay, but couldn't really enjoy to the fullest with the bad treatment.
