★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was really a great experience to enjoy several different "biotops" within a 100 metres far from the sea. We did it with a little child in a pram - no problem (there is a short beach/sand area, which is slightly difficult, but nothing serious). If the information tables and notes had been in English, I would have given 5 stars. I think it is not difficult to do (at least they can give English hand-outs in the office); this would make it much more interesting for the non-Italian speakers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a park, but it is full with villages, streets, cars and most of the land is under agricultural management. That's not what parks are for! Nature should be protected there but especially the agriculture is damaging the ecosystem. The villages are acceptable, because you should not force the local people who live there (maybe for generations) to move to somewhere else, but the fields are not really acceptable in a park

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Almost a harsh place, but still fascinating: the delta of the major Italian river, south of Venice lagoon. A place where it is almost impossible to tell the water apart from the land, and the (many) rivers from the (many) lagoons. Small boats and bikes are the best way to enjoy this unusual, genuine and seldom-visited spot of Italy; good local food, and lot of opportunities for birdwatching. Have you ever asked for a tip on a place to visit that is unusual, still true to itself, and not overcrowded of tourists? Here is that place.
UPDATE August 2019: this year I went back for birdwatching, looking for pink flamingos.. some more photos published.
