Sixteenth-century palace built for Nicolosio Lomellino and then passed first to the Centurione family in the seventeenth century, to the Pallavicini in the eighteenth century, to the Raggi and finally to the baron Podestà in the second half of the nineteenth century.
As always in history, renovations and extensions modified the original by making substantial changes to the interior.
Nowadays, other interventions have brought to light frescoes by Bernardo Strozzi and further evidence of previous decorations attributable to the 1600s.
Unexpected, considering that we are in the very central Via Garibaldi (formerly Strada Nuova), a surprising internal garden: the secret garden.
Fascinating in its unveiling: marble statues, plants, trees, citrus groves with pouring waters.
The visit, by reservation, is definitely worth it, it reveals a less known part of Genoa with its secret secrets.
The accompanying guide enriches the whole: very prepared and available.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the most beautiful palace in Genoa. It's very romantic considering how lovely the gardens are. The truth gem is the statue of Adonis, an amazing marble guy hunting an animal inside an artifical grotto.
