In addition to the facade, the main staircase and the noble floor are worth a visit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Una bella passeggiata all' interno del chiostro. Era giorno di mercatino per cui c erano parecchie bancarelle che esponevano oggetti interessanti ed inusuali. Possibile la visita al museo.
A nice walk inside the cloister. It was a market day for which there were several stalls that exposed interesting and unusual objects. A visit to the museum is possible.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il palazzo appartenne, in origine, alla famiglia mantovana degli Agnelli, che ne cedette la proprietà a Rinaldo Bonacolsi agli inizi del Trecento.
L'edificio, a fianco del duomo, fu realizzato a metà del Settecento, sostituendo due edifici preesistenti, dal conte Guido Porta che lo vendette nel 1756 al marchese Giuseppe Bianchi. I lavori di costruzione si conclusero nel 1765 con il palazzo che fu arricchito di uno scenografico scalone. Ora è sede vescovile.
The palace originally belonged to the Agnelli family from Mantua, who ceded the property to Rinaldo Bonacolsi in the early fourteenth century.
The building, next to the cathedral, was built in the mid-eighteenth century, replacing two existing buildings, by Count Guido Porta who sold it in 1756 to the Marquis Giuseppe Bianchi. Construction work ended in 1765 with the building that was enriched with a spectacular staircase. It is now a bishopric.

È chiamato anche palazzo Bianchi, dal nome del marchese che lo fece finire di costruire nel 1765. Venne venduto poi nel 1824 alla diocesi. Vi abita il vescovo ed è la sede degli uffici della Curia.
Currently undergoing restoration is a huge building located in Piazza Sordello in Mantua. It is also called Palazzo Bianchi, from the name of the Marquis who had it finished building in 1765. It was then sold to the diocese in 1824. The bishop lives there and it is the seat of the offices of the Curia.

Bellissimo palazzo, detto anche Palazzo Bianchi, si affaccia sulla principale piazza Sordello a fianco del Duomo. Oggi residenza del Vescovo, uffici e archivio storico della Curia.
Ingresso caratterizzato da due bellissime statue, statue di Ercole.
Visitato solo esternamente. Splendido.
Bishop's Palace, Mantua.
Beautiful building, also known as Palazzo Bianchi, overlooks the main Sordello square next to the Duomo. Today the Bishop's residence, offices and historical archives of the Curia.
Entrance characterized by two beautiful statues, statues of Hercules.
Visited only externally. Gorgeous.
