★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Situate in un contesto ambientale molto affascinante , la vista sul lago e il lago stesso, molto belli. Gli ambienti, anche se non più utilizzati dall'attuale pontefice, sono però suggestivi. Il resto può essere definito una sorta di pinacoteca dei ritratti papali.
 Located in a very fascinating environmental context, the view of the lake and the lake itself, very beautiful. The rooms, even if no longer used by the current pope, are however suggestive. The rest can be defined as a kind of papal portrait gallery.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quello che mi ha colpito entrando in questo luogo carico di storia, è stato vedere il segno che i vari papi hanno lasciato del proprio passaggio terreno. Ambienti, opere d'arte, rimanneggiamenti vari, o semplicemente la disposizione dello studio e della camera da letto. Al momento, poi, per quanto riguarda le stanze più vissute, il tempo si è fermato, congelato a Benedetto XVI ultimo pontefice a risiedervi abitualmente; in quanto, com'è noto, papa Francesco non gradisce abitare la villa di Castel Gandolfo. Altro particolare, a prima vista insignificante, cui ho prestato attenzione: i vari orologi, a pendolo e da tavolo, perfettamente funzionanti e in orario, e i calendari allineati al giorno 9 settembre 2018, giorno della mia visita. In questa severa immobilità il tempo continua a scorrere e l'intero palazzo aspetta, molto paziente, il prossimo inquilino destinato ad occuparlo. Parafrasando Galileo: "Eppur si muove".
What struck me when entering this place full of history was to see the sign that the various popes have left of their earthly passage. Environments, works of art, various remodeling, or simply the layout of the study and the bedroom. At the moment, then, as regards the most lived-in rooms, time has stopped, frozen to Benedict XVI, the last pontiff to habitually reside there; as, as is well known, Pope Francis does not like to live in the villa of Castel Gandolfo. Another detail, at first sight insignificant, to which I paid attention: the various pendulum and table clocks, fully functional and on time, and the calendars aligned to 9 September 2018, the day of my visit. In this severe immobility, time continues to pass and the whole building waits, very patiently, for the next tenant destined to occupy it. Paraphrasing Galileo: "Yet it moves".

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La passeggiata dura circa 1 ora, il giardino è veramente bello e ben curato, purtroppo non tutti gli spazi sono accessibili al pubblico ma nonostante questo si vedono comunque molte cose.
The walk takes about 1 hour, the garden is really beautiful and well cared for, unfortunately not all spaces are accessible to the public but despite this you can still see many things.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Un giardino di una bellezza unica, curato in ogni minimo dettaglio. Un luogo pieno di storia e vicende curiose tutte da scoprire. C'è la possibilità di fare la visita guidata con pulmino del palazzo + giardini a 20 euro, oppure per gli amanti dei dettagli visita dei giardini a piedi con accompagnatore a 12 euro. Il giro a piedi dura circa 1 ora e permette di visionare delle aree in maniera più diretta ed approfondita ?, ne vale sicuramente la pena. I giardini sono di una vastità impressionante con geometrie affascinanti e l'atmosfera di passato unita alla modernità è qualcosa di stupendo. Consigliatissimi!
A garden of unique beauty, with attention to every detail. A place full of history and curious events to be discovered. There is the possibility of taking a guided tour of the palace + gardens by minibus for 20 euros, or for lovers of details, a guided tour of the gardens on foot with a guide for 12 euros. The walking tour lasts about 1 hour and allows you to view areas in a more direct and in-depth way ?, it is definitely worth it. The gardens are of an impressive vastness with fascinating geometries and the atmosphere of the past combined with modernity is something wonderful. Highly recommended!
