★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My sister and I lived at this orphanage for 2yrs, after my mother's untimely death in 1968, Locri, Reggio di Calabria. It was a cruel and difficult place to put children in after the trauma of losing a mother. My father was already in the US, petitioning our arrival to the states in 1970 NYC.
Meanwhile, I was searching for my mom, nowhere to be found. Talking to the sky thinking God would drop her down to me.
Coming to America was just as difficult. One great thing about the orphanage was that it was up high overlooking the gorgeous sea.
