Small Romanesque church worth a detour. Located on the main square. Its concrete bell tower is typical.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La chiesa si trova nella zona più antica del del borgo marinaro di lerici è dedicata a San Rocco. vi è anche testimonianza dei santi Martino e Cristoforo su una una lapide murata presso il campanile.
Si pensa che la chiesa sorga sulle fondamenta di una precedente struttura religiosa.
L'ampiamento dela chiesa avvena tra il 1523-1524
La prima edificazione del campanile sembra risalga al XIV secolo, venne ristrutturato nel con l'aggiunta della cella campanaria e di una cuspide ottagonale con bifore e monofore. al di sotto; nella parte inferiore sono stati inseriti due bassorilievi raffiguranti la Madonna col Bambino e san Giorgio entrambi del XVI secolo[2].
Negli anni 1815 e 1849 l'oratorio fu usato come quartiere della guardie.
Ci furono discordie dei frati con il vescovo di Luni-Sarzana monsignor Giulio Cesare Lomellini, l'oratorio e la confraternita furono interdetti nel 1763.
Solo nel 1794 il vescovo di Brugnato monsignor Giovanni Luca Solari benedisse nuovamente l'oratorio e nel 1797.
Davvero molto carina ed interessante questa chiesetta che particolareggia il borgo di Lerici.
The church is located in the oldest part of the seaside village of lerici and is dedicated to San Rocco. there is also evidence of the saints Martino and Cristoforo on a walled stone near the bell tower.
The church is believed to have stood on the foundations of a previous religious structure.
The expansion of the church took place between 1523-1524
The first building of the bell tower seems to date back to the 14th century, it was renovated in with the addition of the bell cell and an octagonal cusp with mullioned windows and mullioned windows. below; in the lower part two bas-reliefs have been inserted depicting the Madonna and Child with Saint George both from the 16th century [2].
In the years 1815 and 1849 the oratory was used as a guard district.
There were disagreements between the friars and the bishop of Luni-Sarzana, Monsignor Giulio Cesare Lomellini, the oratory and the brotherhood were banned in 1763.
Only in 1794 did the bishop of Brugnato Monsignor Giovanni Luca Solari bless the oratory again and in 1797.
Really very nice and interesting this little church that details the village of Lerici.
