I did not get it. 11 € for a 5-10 minute visit is not worth it-even it it is a historically significant site. If you must visit for whatever reason, I would only recommend doing so with a museum day pass so you at least get the opportunity to visit some truly amazing sites in the rest of the city for only a little more. Most of the visit time is spent watching an epileptic fit inducing light show that did not, in my opinion, add anything to the experience. This means the true visit time is between 1-2 minutes. We were not offered any self guiding equipment as some mentioned in their reviews.

Interesting landmark, even if only a small part can be visited. I found the light and sound show disconnected with the venue.

One of the most extraordinary buildings I have entered. The Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza. Even more astonishing than Palladio’s architectural design are the stage sets by Vincenzo Scamozzi, which create a breathtaking illusion of depth to evoke the ancient streets of Sophocles’ Oedipus Rex. If only visitors could walk down them to get a sense of how shallow they really are. Definitely if you love art and admire illusion, feast your eyes on this renaissance theatre! The remarkable design was only intended to last for the first performance, but amazingly has survived in great conditions! A must!

One of the greatest Architectural illusions ever constructed. The theater is more entertaining than the show. We asked the guide to walk to the back in order to demonstrate how warped the buildings become. Incredibly fascinating for anyone.

Holy cow. This place is amazing. The set alone is worth the trip. Highly recommend visiting! You get a brief tour of the building learning about the history of how it was built and how it was salvaged during World War II. This is done on an iPad in whatever language you choose. Then you go into the theater itself for a light show. It’s breathtaking!

It is one of the most amazing architectural jewels in the world. A renaissance interpretation of the roman theater typology designed by the great Andrea Palladio. The trompe l'oeil sky on the ceiling, the decorations and the statues, the wooden steps and, of course, the now permanent props on the scene (the perspective distorting backstage background) make up for what is one of the most fantastic experiences in interior space exploration.

Just absolutely magical, this is a very special theater & well worth paying for a guide to explain it's majestic history... I'd give it six ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐!

Magnifisent architecture by Andrea Palladio, one of many World heritage sites in Vicenza. You can stay here for hours, admiring the scene.
