È molto probabile che Iseppo Giuseppe Porto, intraprenda la costruzione di un grande palazzo nella Contrada dei Porti, sinto dall'emulazione dei cognati Adriano e Marcantonio Thiene che avevano cominciato a realizzare un palazzo poco distante, nel 1542.
Proprio il matrimonio di Iseppo con Livia Thiene a metà del 1540, sia l'occasione concreta per la chiamata ad Andrea Palladio. Finito e completamente abitabile nel 1552. Numerosi disegni autografati Palladiani, confermano un iter progettuale complesso che prevedeva l'opera di due distinti blocchi residenziali, uno lungo la strada (poi Contrá Porti), l'altro attestato sulla parete di fondo del cortile. I due blocchi erano collegati da questo maestoso cortile.

It is very probable that Iseppo Giuseppe Porto, undertook the construction of a large palace in the Contrada dei Porti, built from the emulation of his brothers-in-law Adriano and Marcantonio Thiene who had begun to build a building nearby, in 1542.
Just the marriage of Iseppo with Livia Thiene in the middle of 1540, is the concrete occasion for the call to Andrea Palladio. Finished and completely habitable in 1552. Numerous autographed Palladian drawings confirm a complex design process that involved the work of two distinct residential blocks, one along the road (later Contrá Porti), the other attested on the back wall of the courtyard. The two blocks were connected by this majestic courtyard.

Palace included in the UNESCO World Heritage list "The city of Vicenza and the villas of Palladio in the Veneto". The imposing facade has unique decorative elements: the grotesque masks placed in the keystone of the blind arches of the first architectural order.
