Se si fa parte di un'associazione culturale è più semplicemente raggiungere il numero minimo di persone perché possa essere visitato. Si accede al sito scendendo una scala a chiocciola che ci porta a 5/6 metri sotto il livello stradale. C'è molta umidità ma non appena viene chiusa la porta di metallo si apprezzano i giochi di luci che si riflettono sulle conchiglie che tappezzano le pareti del ninfeo e i rumori delle auto non scompaiono ma si attenuano notevolmente. Peccato che fossimo due gruppi e i 15 minuti concessi al mio siano volati, sarei rimasto molto di più soprattutto per il racconto della guida che per quel quarto d'ora ci ha portato indietro di 2000 anni. P	Pier Francesco Grazioli on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Interessantissima visita organizzata da Anita e Valentina a questa piccola porzione rimasta dello splendido ninfeo di epoca Augustea ,annesso di certo ad una villa limitrofa ora distrutta Il ninfeo deve essere poi stato parzialmente demolito da Nerone per far posto alla erigenda Domus aurea Rimane circa la metà di un emiciclo il cui muro a Malta, con incrostazioni di pomici e conchiglie, ancora visibili ,riproduceva una grotta marina Nel muro vi erano anche inclusioni di elementi in pasta vitrea e forse anche vetromosaico Forse era anche usato come cenatio estiva della villa Dimostra la elevatissima tecnica costruttiva romana e la grande capacità di riproduzione di elementi naturali, che palesano l altissimo livello del lusso e raffinatezza delle Domus di epoca Augustea Purtroppo la restante porzione del ninfeo e stata demolita a fine 19 secolo per l apertura di via degli annibaldi ,uno dei tanti indegni sventramenti distruttivi con cui Roma pago il prezzo di essere divenuta capitale del papato prima e d Italia poi. Non sempre aperto, quindi serve anche un po'di fortuna, soprattutto per chi non è un visitatore abituale di questa stupenda città. La conservazione è ottima e ti trasmette tutto il fascino che doveva avere nei secoli passati. Assolutamente da vedere. Venuto alla luce durante i lavori per la realizzazione di via degli Annibaldi (ex via dei Serpenti),e distrutto in parte. Si scende di circa 8 metri attraverso una scala a chiocciola molto stretta e ripida (non adatto a persone con disabilità) e ci si ritrova nella vasca del ninfeo. L'unicità del ninfeo che è fatto con conchiglie telline ed altre valve.visita molto interessante fatta con la sovraintendrnza del comune di Roma. Una minuscola porticina con una invisibile targa sopra segnano questo posto che agli occhi dei passanti sembra una cabina elettrica. Un angusto passaggio introduce a un locale stretto ma profondo, all'Interno del quale una scala a chiocciola stretta e ripida vi permetterà di ammirare da abbastanza vicino le pareti decorate di un emiciclo di epoca augustea che doveva riprodurre una grotta marina attraverso l'utilizzo di materiali autoctoni... conchiglie, valve, telline, cozze, pomici e pietre. Risultato stupendo e ben conservato. Si accede solo su prenotazione. Guardate le foto e le altre recensioni su Roma e le sue meraviglie che ho fatto.
