Rome has so much to offer you'd have to walk past everywhere to see it all. This place is a little different - you take your time - and step inside.

We passed by chance to Portico d'Ottavia and entered the museum. We were greeted very kindly by the staff and the volunteer who offered to guide us. The path with photos and videos is very interesting and poignant. Thanks to the foundation
I forgot to mention that entry is free.

Grazie ancora Marco!
A visit should be mandatory for those who pass by Rome. For me it was a huge honor to have Marco as a guide, fortunately escaped the raid of 16 October 1943. I am glad that my daughter has had this valuable opportunity to learn about this wonderful person and has known how to engage in simple words but straight to the heart . Thanks again Mark!

A small treasure museum in the heart of Rome.
I stumbled upon this relatively new museum by accident and was super impressed on the positive side.
I limit myself to reviewing the museum as the themes it deals with are the ones we all know. Located in the heart of the Jewish ghetto of Rome, all that is the testimony of the Roman Jews at the time of the Second World War is exhibited inside. Well done, very exciting, and held in a decent and respectful way. Free entry.
In summary, I highly recommend a visit to touch what is after all a page (albeit tragic) in the history of Rome.

Ingresso gratuito.
Exhibition opened on January 28 dedicated to concentration camps.
An exhibition full of photos and testimonies of the deportation of Jews, especially Italians, to concentration camps.
A leap into pure horror in one of the saddest and most aberrant pages of history.
Walk out of there with a sense of anguish and sadness that is unmatched.
Excellent guide present on site who was able to explain the horror so as not to forget.
I went there with my children so that they could see the unimaginable with their own eyes.
Free entry.

β β β β β The Fondazione Museo della Shoah is free and a must visit for anyone interested in Italian or Roman History. It represents firsthand the human damages that Fascism and also the Germans brought to this magnificent city and country.
There are rotating exhibitions and private tours and can be booked in Italian and English for free if booked in advance.
The facts, stories, human trauma that the Fondazione Museo della Shoah tell us are just as important as the food, music and monuments of Italy and we all have a duty not to learn this and not forget those whom perished. Lest we be forced to relive it ourselves.
Fondazione Museo della Shoah is temporarily housed in medieval palazzo inside the old Roman Jewish Ghetto. There are plans to build a new building for it.
