A nice, small museum to visit when traveling through Salerno.

I tried to visit the museum today. It was closed. Total waste of time and money.

It was good but it's a bit small and not much is written in English.

I can't give a positive review as the Museum was closed despite what it said on the Museum door, the official website and google maps opening hours. I called up and nowadays they only open for groups, mainly schools. If there is a group visiting then individuals can join the group. Important - Call the Museum before visiting.

We arrived before the posted closing. The access is not visible from the road. When I asked a guard at the gate he said the museum was closed and that we were supposed to have called. There is no mention of needing to call first clearly/obviously posted. I have found that this is typical of our trip to Italy. Times are arbitrary, indifference is high. Plan accordingly. If you are hoping to come to this museum, call first.

Excellent museum for those interested in the history of World War 2. This is about the allied landings at Salerno and about the fact that Salerno was Italy's capital for a while! I especially liked the many photos and Italian news clippings, never seen before. Recommended, especially since there are not many WW2 related musea and other places in Italy.

For a privately owned and operated museum, this was very well done. The shame of it however is the lack of resources available to them. The space was small and there was only one video. Kudos to the owner who showed us around, but shame on the Italian and US governments who do not seem to recognize the importance of the Italian campaign and the losses suffered by the Allies in the Salerno and Anzio landings.
