Small museum with manuscripts and illuminated manuscripts, as well as the genealogical tree of the Piccolomini family. Very quick visit (unfortunately there was no guide)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Museo di nicchia ma vivamente consigliato agli studenti ed ai cultori della materia soprattutto per gli aspetti storici e letterari. Particolarmente interessante la figura di Enea Silvio Piccolomini, mediatore, umanista poi divenuto vescovo di Trieste quindi Papa col nome di Pio II. Encomiabile il ruolo del personale che cura il museo e un plauso alla responsabile che fa da "Cicerone" con passione e professionalità. Una valida alternativa ai luoghi più noti.
Niche museum but highly recommended for students and students of the subject especially for the historical and literary aspects. Particularly interesting is the figure of Enea Silvio Piccolomini, mediator, humanist who later became bishop of Trieste and then Pope with the name of Pius II. The role of the staff that takes care of the museum is commendable and applauds the manager who acts as "Cicerone" with passion and professionalism. A valid alternative to the most famous places.
