I reperti più antichi risalgono all'età medievale, più numerosi quelli del Settecento, Ottocento e Novecento: piatti, maioliche di argomento religioso, piastrelle di rivestimento, piastrelle decorative, che testimoniano lo sviluppo dell'arte della Ceramica Vietrese, Salernitana e locale in genere. È possibile visitarlo il sabato e la domenica mattina e in altre occasioni particolari. La Collezione Alfonso Tafuri rappresenta un esempio interessante di impegno privato volto alla conservazione e alla valorizzazione della storia dell’arte ceramica campana e, in particolare, del rapporto che la ceramica salernitana e vietrese ha avuto con la città, con le sue abitudini ed i suoi gusti, e con la religiosità dei suoi abitanti.
