Quindi più di una volta si è raggiunta la vetta del Monte Tifata dove si erge la grande Croce in ferro! Abbiamo percorso la salita in entrambi i due versanti; da S. Angelo in Formis e da San Leucio! Quindi che dire: È una cosa da fare per il panorama, l'aria salutare, è anche un ottimo allenamento; in più la soddisfazione di raggiungere la vetta!☺️ A discovery and a novelty for me, to climb mountain paths; due to the closure of the various post lockdown premises! So more than once the summit of Mount Tifata has been reached where the great iron cross stands! We walked the climb on both sides; from S. Angelo in Formis and from San Leucio! F	Fabio Carbone on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Delle volte non serve salire sui 2 mila metri per osservare panorami e paesaggi belli da vedere. Il Monte Tifata è stata una sorprendente scoperta. A soli 603 metri slm è possibile vedere Punta Campanella e la Penisola Sorrentina, Capri , Ischia, Procida, il Vesuvio, tutta la costa che da Napoli si spinge verso Mondragone. Mentre guardando verso l'interno si vedono le montagne del Matese e il Taburno. Più di così a 600 metri... Sometimes it is not necessary to climb 2 thousand meters to observe beautiful views and landscapes to see. Mount Tifata was a surprising discovery. At only 603 meters above sea level it is possible to see Punta Campanella and the Sorrentine Peninsula, Capri, Ischia, Procida, Vesuvius, the whole coast that goes from Naples towards Mondragone. While looking inland you can see the Matese and Taburno mountains. More than this at 600 meters ...

La montagna assolutamente da visitare, ci sono più sentieri prontamente indicati e la scalata si può fare sia dal versante di San Prisco che da quello di Sant'Angelo in Formis Although the top of this mountain is not very high, the vastness of the foothills is imposing and dominates the Campania Felix territory. Per la cima esistono almeno 4 sentieri: - quello dalla basilica di Sant'Angelo in Formis non è granché, vegetazione bassa, si sale a zigzag o dritto lungo il pendio, bella solo l'ultima parte in cui si percorre la breve cresta ovest; - quello dalla vaccheria, ovvero da San leucio; dopo una ventina di minuti in cui si sale alla capanna/rifugio, il sentiero percorre tutta la bella cresta est della montagna; sentiero consigliato anche in notturna; - quello da San Prisco, che so essere carino come sentiero, ma che personalmente non ho fatto; - quello dal lato nord del Tifata (dal lato del Volturno) che neanche conosco benea ma che so essere bello dato che consiste in una prima parte nel bosco (la faccia nord del Tifata è boschiva, diversamente dalla faccia meridionale) e una seconda parte sulla cresta ovest In generale io lo evito in estate, dato il caldo e il proliferare di insetti. O perlomeno in estate preferisco andare di mattina presto di modo che per le 10 sono già ridisceso giù Tifata is a beautiful mountain, albeit not very high. For the top there are at least 4 paths: - the one from the basilica of Sant'Angelo in Formis is not much, low vegetation, you go up in a zigzag or straight way along the slope, only the last part of the short western ridge is beautiful; - the one from the vaccheria, or from San leucio; after about twenty minutes in which you go up to the hut / refuge, the path runs along the whole beautiful eastern ridge of the mountain; path recommended also at night; - the one from San Prisco, which I know is nice as a path, but which I personally haven't done; - the one on the north side of the Tifata (on the Volturno side) which I don't even know well but which I know is beautiful since it consists of a first part in the woods (the north face of the Tifata is wooded, unlike the southern face) and a second part on the west ridge In general, I avoid it in the summer, given the heat and the proliferation of insects. Or at least in the summer I prefer to go early in the morning so that by 10 am I already went downstairs
