Fu costruito agli inizi del '500 grazie alle offerte dei devoti militellesi a Sant' Agata........ fu adibito a collegio per povere "zitelle"........
Poi passò alle suore di clausura benedettine.
Nel 1696 il Monastero fu ingrandito.
Quando lo Stato assorbi' la struttura una novizia, Nazzarena Carrera, la riscatto' nel 1912 e, il 25 Maggio 1914, cedette la Chiesa di S. Agata alla Chiesa di S. Nicola- Ss. Salvatore, per tenerla sempre aperta al culto.
Il Monastero fu venduto dal Demanio come abitazioni a privati.

Then it passed to the Benedictine cloistered nuns.
In 1696 the monastery was enlarged.

The Monastery was sold by the State as housing to private individuals.
