★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Luogo ricco di storia e di fascino....per secoli ha rappresentato il fulcro della sacralità ma anche del chiacchericcio della vita catanese. Oggi, gestito dall'università,ferve di attività culturali ma manca perde di valore se si guarda al contesto dove è incastonato. Dal balneum delle terme romane alla chiesa di san Nicola la rena passando per la stessa piazza Dante,sono poco curate e valorizzate e quindi, danno la sensazione di assenza di amalgama che alla fine, svaluta anche il monastero
A place rich in history and charm .... for centuries it has been the fulcrum of the sacredness but also of the chatter of the life of Catania. Today, run by the university, it is alive with cultural activities but it loses its value if we look at the context where it is set. From the balneum of the Roman baths to the church of San Nicola la Rena passing through the same Piazza Dante, they are poorly cared for and valued and therefore, they give the feeling of absence of amalgam that in the end, also devalues the monastery
