I went here with my girlfriend as we had been recommended this place by the person we rented our apartment from. While the food was not necessarily bad it was a bit bland and the portion was small for the price of 13 euros for a portion of pasta compared to other places in Catania I would understand if the quality was very high but it was not. I left this place still hungry and very dissapointed.
The worst part of the experience and the reason I am giving this place 2 stars was the service. Interestingly, as this place specialises in fish and seafood, we felt like 2 fish being circled by a shark. The waiter kept circling our table (we were the only 2 customers in the restaurant) and looking over our shoulders to check what we were up to, this specifically made my girlfriend very uncomfortable and it made us want to finish our food and leave asap.
Overall, the wine was decent though pricy (4 euros per small glass), the food was bland, the portions were too small and the service was downright terrible!
Many places in Catania with much better quality and service, avoid this place if you can.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a pearl of Catania. It is located on the local food market. The chief Carmello Marino is always there. Food is amazing. For us, spoiled people traveling the world, it is one of the best places so far.
Check their lentil seafood soup, tuna sausage and seafood crudo. It deserves Michelin star.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 3.5-5. Good portions and ok service at mm!trattoria - we prob did not choose well dishes as my gf didn’t want to order crudités (which are supposed to be the highlight) and the tuna filet. I appreciated the little menu, maybe would have wished a short wine list as well. Prices are fair. May be back!
