Peccato che qualche banda di subumani abbia distrutto molto di quello che era stato fatto per rendere la visita sicura ed appagante. Mi piacerebbe conoscerli, e magari studiarne l'etologia. Forse si potrebbe trovare un modo per far loro capire che danneggiano soprattutto se stessi. O forse no, in quel caso potrebbero comunque essere utilizzati per sperimentare nuovi farmaci. Vetrate rotte a terra, gradini di peperino spezzati, graffiti e immondizia. Se si riesce a chiudere occhi e una parte di animo a queste visioni, il sito riserva comunque belle emozioni. Dalla torre si vede tanto verde e il bel canalone sottostante. The place is very beautiful and evocative. Too bad that some band of subhumans destroyed much of what had been done to make the visit safe and rewarding. I'd like to get to know them, and maybe study their ethology. Perhaps a way could be found to make them understand that they harm themselves primarily. Or maybe not, in that case they could still be used to test new drugs. Broken glass on the ground, broken peperino steps, graffiti and garbage. If you can close your eyes and a part of your soul to these visions, the site still reserves beautiful emotions. From the tower you can see lots of greenery and the beautiful gully below.

Già ristrutturato e predisposto con scale e copertura per il visitatore, peccato l'abbandono e la insufficiente manutenzione. Vale assolutamente la pena, comunque, di visitarlo. Absolutely to visit, the Rock Castle overlooking the valley of the famous necropolis of Castel D'asso, 5 minutes from Viterbo. Already renovated and prepared with stairs and roofing for the visitor, too bad the abandonment and insufficient maintenance. However, it is absolutely worth a visit.

Noi siamo arrivati al castello parcheggiando in un campo, al termine di una strada bianca (ma consiglio di impostare sul navigatore la necropoli etrusca: digitando castel d'asso il navigatore porta in via castel d'asso, dall'altro lato di un ruscello, ma vicinissimo al castello). Il "castello" è ridotto a un rudere, ideale per un gioco di ruolo dal vivo o per un poeta in cerca di ispirazione. Si può salire fino alla cima della torre maggiore attraverso una scala moderna in ferro e peperino, anche se qualche gradinoè stato vandalizzato e sostituito con tavolette di legno. Anche le porte in ferro e vetro della torre sono state rotte e gettate per terra. Passando oltre il castello, verso la necropoli, si trova un piccolo ponte sul ruscello, che in quel punto forma una cascata. Luogo stupendo, che merita di essere valorizzato con qualche targa esplicativa e cestini per l'immondizia. The place is beautiful and impressive, but vandalized and dirty. We arrived at the castle by parking in a field, at the end of a dirt road (but I recommend setting the Etruscan necropolis on the navigator: by typing castel d'asso the navigator leads to via castel d'asso, on the other side of a stream, but very close to the castle). The "castle" is reduced to a ruin, ideal for a live role-playing game or for a poet looking for inspiration. You can climb to the top of the main tower via a modern iron and peperino staircase, although some steps have been vandalized and replaced with wooden tablets. The iron and glass doors of the tower were also broken and thrown to the ground. Passing beyond the castle, towards the necropolis, there is a small bridge over the stream, which forms a waterfall at that point. Wonderful place, which deserves to be enhanced with some explanatory plaques and garbage cans.
